Bullhorn at F1 Arcade London
Networking Photography People Wanted to Share
There’s something about getting clients, partners and prospective customers together in the same room that you just can’t replicate over a video call, and Bullhorn knew exactly how to make an afternoon of it.
They brought guests, including RE:STACK, Kyloe Partners and Broadbean, together at F1 Arcade London for an afternoon of racing simulators, food, drinks and good conversation, and asked us to photograph the event.
The Challenge
This wasn’t a big conference with a stage and a crowd to disappear into. It was an intimate private event, and in a space that small, a photographer can easily become the thing everyone notices.
The guests were there to enjoy themselves, catch up and build relationships, not spend the afternoon posing for photographs, so we needed to capture everything without constantly interrupting the conversations that made the event worthwhile.
The Approach
The trick was to become part of the room rather than someone hovering around the edges with a camera. We chatted to guests, got to know who was who and worked the space much like another attendee, knowing when to join in and when to step back and let things happen naturally. That meant we could photograph the competitive moments on the racing simulators, the laughter between races and the one-to-one conversations that were the whole point of the afternoon.
And we couldn’t have asked for a better setting. With gorgeous light, a lively crowd and St Paul’s Cathedral framed behind the guests, we were able to create images that felt far more cinematic than the usual corporate networking photography, while still showing the people and relationships at the heart of the event.
The Impact
Within 24 hours, attendees were sharing the images across LinkedIn, with Bullhorn’s team, partners and clients all posting photographs from the afternoon.
What had been a private networking event was suddenly reaching people well beyond the room, with images that showed just how much fun everyone had and gave guests something they wanted to share.
As one member of the Bullhorn team put it on LinkedIn:
“As important as it is to keep up with the accelerating pace of things, it’s also equally important to slow down and actually understand what is really going on!”
And that’s exactly what events like this are about, creating the time and space for people to have proper conversations and build relationships.
Great networking events bring people together in the room, and great photography gives those moments a life beyond it. If you’re planning a client networking event in London, we’d love to hear about it.
